Founded in 1989 by John O’Dell and joined by his son Shawn in 1991, O’Dell Construction has grown into one of Northern Wyoming’s leading general contracting firms. Over the years, we’ve expanded our expertise to include roles as General Contractor, Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR), and Design Builder for both residential and commercial projects. Our portfolio showcases a diverse range of projects, including over 70 custom homes, schools, banks, retirement facilities, medical centers, retail establishments, and government buildings. Our dedication to quality and client satisfaction has fostered lasting relationships, with many clients returning for future projects.

OUR Team

Shawn's son Will joined the business as a Project Manager in 2021. Will graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Petroleum Engineering degree in 2018. He worked as a carpenter with O'Dell Construction into 2020. He now handles project management for the company, which includes scheduling, proposals, bidding/estimates, and overseeing day-to-day operations in the field. Will also handles communications between owners, architects, and subcontractors on projects he manages. He has been heavily involved in the construction industry for more than 10 years and is familiar with every step of the construction process.

In 2013, after graduating with her bachelors degree, Rebecca realized her true calling was with her family's business. Over the years she has taken on office coordination, company safety, and project coordination. Rebecca has taken her many years being in and around the construction industry and used this knowledge to maintain a seamless process from pre-construction to finished project. She takes extreme pride in being an O'Dell and helping to carry on the incredible reputation her grandfather and father have established.

President of O’Dell Construction, Shawn has over 30 years of experience in construction, more than 20 of which have been as Principal of O’Dell Construction where he performs the duties of Chief Operating Officer, Estimator, Project Manager, Construction Manager, and Scheduler. He has overseen countless residential and commercial projects as either General Contractor, Design Builder, or Construction Manager at Risk. His hands-on knowledge of the industry allows him to accurately estimate costs and timelines, prepare and coordinate project schedules, troubleshoot along the way, etc. His natural talent for design allows him to hear and understand owners’ visions and translate them into workable plans. Shawn maintains healthy professional relationships with a myriad of subcontractors and suppliers, understands their strengths and weaknesses, and can knowledgably guide owners through the subcontractor selection process. Now retired, Shawn still stops by the office from time to time, continuing to offer insight and mentorship while enjoying a well-earned break from day-to-day operations.
