Building Foundations in the 90s

In the mid-1990s, Shawn O’Dell worked closely with Joanne and Bernie Bornong to bring their vision of a custom home in Sheridan to life. It was a project built on craftsmanship, trust, and the beginning of a lifelong friendship. For thirty years, that house has been the backdrop for the Bornong family’s story—including three decades of Joanne creating beautiful artwork from her workspace in the attic.

Growing with the Next Generation

Fast forward to today, and the O’Dell legacy continues. Will and Becca—the third generation of O’Dell Construction—had the unique privilege of returning to the Bornong residence to help the home evolve.

We recently completed a seamless addition to the right side of the house. The goal was simple: expand the footprint while maintaining the architectural integrity of the original 90s build. The result is a transition so natural it looks as though it was always meant to be there.

From the Attic to the Studio

The heart of this new wing is a stunning, light-filled art studio designed specifically for Joanne’s craft. After 30 years of navigating the attic stairs to create, she now has a dedicated, professional space on the main floor to inspire her next chapter of work.

The addition includes:

  • Custom Art Studio: Flooded with natural light and designed for creative flow.
  • Expanded Living Space: A new bedroom and modern bathroom.
  • Integrated Storage: Seamlessly tucked away to keep the focus on the design.

At O’Dell Construction, we don’t just build houses; we build relationships that last decades. It was an honor to come home to the Bornongs.
